Our Date

Marika and I went on a date the other day. Like total nerds, we went to Disneyland to have dinner at the Blue Bayou. The dinner was pretty good, the short ribs were awesome, but the atmosphere is what really makes the Blue Bayou so great. I do love Disneyland; they really try to do everything so well. After dinner we went over to California Adventure and rode The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. As you can see, nothing phases me anymore!

Nice Weekend!

Hello again!

We had a nice weekend. Marika went down to San Diego for Michaela and Bobby's baby shower. Kohana and I went to Anya's (one of my student's) birthday party Saturday afternoon; it was great seeing some of my kids; I do miss them. Kohana's highlight of the party was the chocolate fountain!

After the party we hit the road to Wrightwood to hang out with the Skala's. Kohana is at the age where she keeps asking, "are we there yet?", "Dada, tell me when you see Justin's house.", and "is that Justin's house (to any random house)?"

Once we got there we went for a walk and got some ice cream!

The kids had fun playing, as always!

On the way home Kohana and I wanted to stop at the Bass Pro Shop in Ontario. I had no idea what to expect. I am now a fan! That place is crazy! They have streams running inside with live trout, waterfalls that empty into gigantic tanks with fish, clothes of every kind, bikes, furniture, a restaurant, and the list could go on, and on, and on...

Kohana was frightened by the boars!

Have a good week!

We went to Disney's California Adventure today. Initially, Marika and I did not care much for CA Adventure, but after today's visit our minds have changed. They have so much for Kohana to do, it's less crowded, and they serve beer! We're planning another trip next week; we'll probably go to Disneyland then; Kohana really wants to ride Dumbo.

The annual passes were one of our best purchases. It's so nice knowing that you can come and go as you please. If you don't get on the ride you want on one visit, you can always get it on the next!

As summers go, this has been a really busy summer for us, but it's been nice. Marika and I have about three weeks to go until school starts and Kohana starts preschool in two weeks.

The Howells

We had a great couple of days with Gwen, Ian, and Mia. Thursday involved the water park in Ladera Ranch, followed by some movie time, and topped off with Mexican food!

On Friday, we did a couple of projects, one of which included my new favorite activity, beach combing. The kids played in the "pool" in the backyard, and the visit to Uncle Brian and Aunt Marika's ended with the beginning (and end) of the new band: The One-Eyed Butterflies.

Enjoy!

Crystal Cove State Beach

Crystal Cove State Beach is quickly becoming a Howell favorite. We had a great day playing in the sand, building sand castles, and combing the beach for shells. I found a baby abalone shell, while Kohana found a plastic tiger toy. Enjoy the Kohana dance!

Fun day with friends and family; although, I'm still not a fan of ferris wheels.
